Scotts Valley is mostly a residential haven for people who work in nearby Santa Cruz and San Jose. It’s snugly set between the coast and the mountains. Many housing developments can be seen here due to the rising demand, and they are surrounded by scenic forests and spacious parks. You won’t run out of spaces to enjoy the California sunshine, and there are lots of perfect spots for hiking and picnics. Modern amenities like restaurants and shops are numerous as well.

Homes in Scotts Valley have a median value of $580,000 and with so many homebuyers earning an annual income upwards of $103,000 the prices of residential properties are going up. So if you want to live here, you better take advantage of the current bargains. The median cost of homes is $641,200 but prices are increasing by 10% every year.
If you’re looking for a condo, you can get a unit for less than $500,000 and that already has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 1,108 sq. ft. of space. Another condo perfect for young adults and new families offers 887 sq. ft. of space with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, for less than $400,000.
But you can also get spacious homes at excellent prices. On Lockewood Lane, there’s a rustic and cozy 1,212 cabin with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths that’s on the market for less than $620,000 while in Whispering Pines Drive there’s a nice 1,440-sq. ft. house with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths for just $238,500.
If you’re looking for luxurious properties, Scotts Valley might also have exactly what you want. A charming 2,181-sq. ft. home surrounded by plants and trees in Southwood Drive is listed for $1.4 million. Scotts Valley Amenities
You’d expect a small city like Scotts Valley to have plenty of amenities for its residents, especially since many businesses are also headquartered in the area. There are lots of options for restaurants and coffee shops, so that local workers have places to go to for meals and snacks.
It’s really a town, though, with less than 12,000 people spread over 4.6 square miles. And it’s surrounded by stately coast redwood forests. Near the town are beautiful parks like Big Basin, which covers 18,000 acres and more than 81 miles of trails.
Henry Cowell offers nature lovers lots of hiking, bird-watching, and fishing. There are also mountain bike trails around and some are designed for horses and dogs. Roaring Camp Railroads is a tourist railroad that travels through a redwood forest to the top of Bear Mountain.
